Sage & Scripture is a personal journal. It collects as little as possible. Here is all of it.

If you subscribe

When you subscribe, your email address is saved so new journal entries can be emailed to you. You're added only after you tap the link in a confirmation email; unconfirmed sign-ups are deleted after 30 days.

Your address is used only to send you new entries. It is never sold, shared or used for advertising. The writer of Sage & Scripture can see the list of subscribers.

The list is stored with Cloudflare, which hosts this site, and the emails are delivered by Resend, an email delivery service. Our emails don't track whether you open them or which links you tap.

Signing in

Subscribers can sign in to see or end their subscription. There's no password: we email you a 6-digit code that works for 15 minutes. Signing in sets one cookie that keeps you signed in on that device for up to 90 days, and the site keeps a scrambled copy of it so it can recognize you. Signing out removes it.

Community

Signed-in subscribers can share notes in the Community and under journal entries. Your notes show the first name you choose, and only signed-in subscribers and the writer can read them; search engines can't. The writer reads each note before it's shared with others. You can delete your own notes anytime, and the site also remembers which notes you tapped ♡ on.

Unsubscribing

Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can also unsubscribe after signing in. Unsubscribing deletes your email address from the list, along with anything you shared in the Community.

Visiting the site

There are no ads and no analytics, and no cookies unless you sign in. Like any website host, Cloudflare processes each visit (such as your IP address) to deliver pages securely. The fonts come from Google Fonts, so your browser also connects to Google to load them.

Changes

If anything here changes, this page will be updated with a new date.
